    Hi, i have these school of red frys which I believe that my black balloon molly gave birth to them as I do not have platy that looks like the fry!

    The only platy that I have is a full red one.

    those red body and black tails are platies.

    It's possible that your red platy had mated previously; female livebearers are known to store sperm, enough to produce several batches of fry. And it's also likely that your platy had mated with a male that had the right genetic combination to produce such "wagtail" offspring.

    By the way, the plant in your tank is actually a terrestrial selaginella. Not sure if it can survive for long inside.

    I bought it from Seaview and It's been in the tank for around 3-4 months already haha. but it doesnt seem to grow at all. is it even an aquatic plant?

    It is definitely terrestrial as it can be found as landscaping in many of our parks. It might survive in water for long periods but dont think it will thrive.

    Yes, those are definitely wagtail platies...
    Devoted aquarist ever since early 1970's...
    Specialized in livebearers...
    A special focus on wildguppies and endlers...

    your only full red one is an adult female balloon platy, will not grow anymore.
