Guys, do you all use something to keep them in place (eg. for duckweeds/etc) as i read that if the top portion get wet, they might rot.

Mine keep floating all over the place until they get sucked into the lily pipe and after a while came out upside down. Seen a couple of them rot or died after that.

Yeah, floating plants do tend to deteriorate if they constantly get submerged and tossed around by filter flow.

A good method is to create a floating "fence" to cordon them together. Get a length of silicone air line tubing + straight connector, loop it into a circle and join the 2 ends together with the connector. Put the circle of tubing onto the water surface and place all the floating plants in it, you'll have a protective floating ring.

Thanks UA. Was thinking along that line. But suddenly pop my mind about customising one plastic fence via 3D printing :P Wonder how much it costs.

PS: Although off topic too, was thinking of 3D printing some clear plastic shelter for shrimps too! :P
