After awhile in my planted tank with rocks, the inevitable really happen, my long-fin bettas finnage starting to show wear and tear as he starts to play around the rocks.

Can anyone recommend any effective treatment for my boy?

You can try Seachem StressGuard, it will prevent secondary infections and help the betta to heal, i use it for my injured fishes and it works well.

Of course the best prevention is to remove those rocks from the tank (or shift the betta to another tank without sharp objects), otherwise it will still keep getting injured.
