At your Tds range
are you sure your Gh is 0?
@DsCheng and @Jimmy I bought it at Seaview for $33 as I can't afford to wait, not sure for the link whats the shipping sorry.
@newlife I checked with Sun Pets aquarium, and they mentioned my test kit (5 in 1 API) could be inaccurate, which I suspect too.
Apparently the days which my shrimps have no deaths are shortlived. Deaths occurred again, and 4 of them are gone. I have saved 2 last shrimps and put them in a separate tank, planning to do a reset of the tank. I suspect could be due to CO2 or too much waste products from unintended occupants (I think there are lots of worms and creatures lurking in the soil, I once saw a stripped worm longer than 3 cm moving, but too slow to catch it. Only the planarians are nice enough to come out and say hello).
Ok. What is your tds reading?
New water change is ard 100-110, after 2 days become 140-150
your very low ! Good i suppose. My both tank is around 270~280 ! I just brought from Y618. $20.. also no brand one. I test the pure tap water, it show 103ppm.
Yea I was advised on some earlier replies that below 200 tds is good,so when I first bought the meter and got home and it reads 297, I changed water immediately (tap water usu 90-110), and make sure it stays below 200. But still die leh LOL!
What is your tank temperature? For all shrimp, i think the best temperature is 25 degree. I having a 60L tank, quite heavy planted tank. A lot of small fish, Malayan shrimp, Cherry red shrimp and a few culled CRS all surviving without any problem.
As of now, I am planning to reset the tank by throwing away its content (soil, filter..etc), and then purchasing new stuffs for it tml. But before that, I am conducting "The Purge" lol

I am adding half bag of my aquarium salt into the tank (after removing my fishes, shrimps and hardworking snails of course). TDS reading is now 1,400, seen planarias struggling, tubifex dying and some small white bugs in panic mode.
So far the plain lookingMarimo balls I pick up and put into a salt water container, ends up with so many dead tubifex in just minutes.

My nick is lizhien. But i'm not a girl. It's Li Zhi En. =) You can call me Cole too.
Haha wow I can't believe this thread came alive again! Yep its been about a year, so far so good, lesser shrimp death and planarias, controlled feeding to 2 days one time.
@Adriel75 I was poor last time, so using H.E.L.P soil. but yea, you should go for the better ones.
If you wanna breed them you might want to consider removing the tetras, glass fish etc,
