    Feedback needed - Rockscape attempt

Hi guys, just did a rescape on my 2 feet tank. Like to seek some opinion on how this scape goes.

This is my first attempt at an iwagumi (or rock scape for that matter).

I'm also considering HC or MC or Hairgrass. I've seen some of Amano's Zen scape concepts, where the idea is to use only 1, or at most 2 types of plants. Not sure if it will work here.

    Appreciate any suggestions or feedback.
    Thanks!

    Just a little suggestion.
The rock on the front left portion looks out of place at the moment. So is the small one on top. Go get some small pieces of rocks to hide the transition line.
Are you planning to add any DW? The rocks do not look like Iwagumi. Unless of course you are planning extensive use of stem plants to contour the shape of your scape.

Maybe you would like to tell us what plants you are looking at too.

I personally like DW + rocks scape.

    Just my 2 cents,

I think there is abit too much big rocks for a 2 feet making it abit cluttered.
Usually they look for 1 main focal rock and few smaller or supplementing ones.

Still cycling mine with some old media going to be 2 weeks. TRopica MC spreading pretty well and seems like it might not melt on me. (I did plant the carpets heavily from the start thou)
The hairgrass is okay too but the "visible" sideways progress is not going as well as the MC.

    Thanks guys.

Looks like it's back to drawing board again. Initially i was targeting to have it simple, like just 3 rocks kind of score but since I bought these rocks thought I'd use them. But looks like it's too cluttered as mentioned.

There can never be too much rocks.
Just keep those unused ones somewhere, after a while when you bored with the scape. You will be needing them again.

Mine is in a big plastic contiainer in the corner of the storeroom.

Thanks all for the feedback. Rearranged the rocks based on your comments and flooded it 2 days ago!
HC planted in the foreground and E.Tenellus in the background.
    Hope all turns out well!

    Two months in.
Tonnes of algae but managed to clear miraculously. Snails pop up from nowhere.
Glad my first attempt with HC turned out well!

Congrats! I'm on my third batch of replanting for HC, previous two attempts failed due to algae overrun! Been doing pretty regular water changes and I hope third time's the charm! Aided in algae battle by two otos and several red rilis, let's see!

All are the same rocks. Refer to the first picture.

Somehow the left main rock was more infected with algae than the others. Haha

Added in tall hairgrass. Waiting for them to set in and hoping for a lush thick growth at the back.
Meanwhile still having tonnes of snail and some hair algae on my HC.

Hi. Where is the tall grass from? What is its scientific name?

Scientific name is Eleocharis Vivipara. It's widely available at any LFS. You can order it at the LFS if they accept pre-orders.

Thanks. Normally only see short hairgrass and not the long ones.
