Riccia Harvesting Question...

Hi all

Can i just give the riccia a "crew cut" and then still be able to use those cut out leaves to form a new mesh or am i suppose to pull out the riccia strips by strips instead of cutting them to transfer to the a new mesh?

As understand that the cut pieces of Riccia can be used to grow again, is there any specific lenght OR doesn't matter! Just curious
