    Re: Is this Algae???

Its just fungus/mold feeding upon organic material releasing sugars on the wood surface, its usually an indication that the entire wood is not fully dead yet and there are still parts (ie. bark or soft wood) which are still rottting... they will eventually disappear on their own once the food source is consumed. You can also manually remove them regularly to accelerate the process.

    Re: Is this Algae???

Thanks bro for replying. Any other guru to determine whether it's harmful? I read over the net by adding rat fish feed on the slime helps too. Anymore idea how to solve? Tested the value using api master test but value given ph 7.5 ammonia below 1ppm No2 1ppm No3 5ppm. Live guppys inside tank

Whats rat fish? Sounds interesting, any other names for it?

Your tank is still cycling and the parameters are unstable, so its not a good idea to have livestock in the tank during this period of time. Anyways the fungus/mold will eventually clear up on its own, so its just a matter of time.

No. It is not algae. The drift wood is not 'seasoned' yet

SAE = Siamese Algae Eater... they eat mainly filamentous algae like black brush algae though, not really much help with mold/fungus.

I don't recall any fishes actually eating mold or fungus, unless the fungus is already dead in which case i've observed scavengers like shrimps or snails eating the organic residue.
