    Hi all,
I recently decommissioned my 2ft planted tankand started a 3 ft planted tank instead. The tank is now about 9days old
Here is an old photo of my 2ft tank. I reused most of the plants here for the 3ft in addition to buying other varieties

Here are some photos of the laborious process.

    Fixing the hard scape layout.
I intended for the tank to be viewed from both sides so placed the drift wood in the middle, creating like a mountain between both sides.

After a backbreaking amount of work. The height of the tank is 2ft and this made it all the more difficult to scape and plant the plants

    The view from the back.

However I felt that there weren't enough plants and hence I progressively added more over the next few days

I'll add more photos in the next update

    Re: 3 ft planted tank

Bought a new light for the tank. Aquazonic IP4 infinity pleasure.

    Playing with the light.
As the tank was 2ft deep. I was concerned that the light penetration would be limited.
Lawrence from East ocean recommended I use Mhd lights but I didn't quite like them as they become very hot and my electricity bills would shoot thru the roof. So in the end after much searching I found IP4 to be very good.
    It has two high powered 10w LEDs (8k+10k), 24 x 1.5w LEDs ("x" led), and 2 x t5(7.5k). Total wattage is 134W.

When all the lights are on at the same time it becomes very very bright.

Here is a photo of the filter system

I'm also using ISTA online reactor as I find that it is the most effective way to dissolve co2 in the water with minimal wastage of co2

    Re: 3 ft planted tank

As the tank was also very deep, I was concerned with the flow of the water and that it might be too weak. Hence I added a JEBAO wave maker to increase circulation. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1437067917.653645.jpg
This is a pretty good wave maker In my opinion. The control panel allows you to toggle between circulator mode and wave mode and it also allows you to control the speed of the blade, thereby controlling how fast the water flows.

Some more photos of the tank with more plants

Great job on the rescape. The DW you have looks very well placed. Too many plants might undo the depth and texture you created with the DW.
