Back into fish keeping hobby ! with a betta tank

Hi all,

i used to breed Betta as a hobbist and keep a community tank . Just came back into this hobby as autofeeders solve
my problem of feeding the fish while i am on overseas assignment .

This is my restart betta tank . just 1 ft by 1/2 ft . very small . LoL .....

This female betta is just temporary fertilizer for the plants . Will be getting a more quality ornamental male betta as resident .

Hi...where did you get this Betta from? I had a similar one, full black with gold stripes in the fins....and at a different angle, the stripes change to green colour. But it jumped over into another tank and was mauled by the other fish!! I am looking for another one like it.

This is what it looked like after it was rescued. The fins were ripped. I am so sad

an update on my Betta tank . Gave away the small tank and created another betta tank that is 30 cm long tank.
it is using undergravel filter system .

How is the betta getting along with the guppies? Do they stress each other out in the same tank?

Yes a big and comfortable tank like this is what a beautiful Betta deserves. Your tank is really good (very well done up).

The Guppy with a long tail is unable to escape quick enough from Betta nipping its fins. I have removed male guppy from the tank.

The female guppy with a short tail is doing fine tho cos she is a fast swimmer .

Your Betta is lord of the tank. He does not need any company. He is happy in the mansion you've created for him.

Re-scaped my 20 x 20 x 20 Cube Betta Tank. Decided to go for something simple. I think the effect is really effective IMO.
