Is the middle plant a moss??if it is, then it is not a true water moss and will die off after a while in water

The SAE did nothing with the algae.
Hope the Amano (Yamato) shrimps work.

    Re: BoonBoy's New Tank!

Algae Eater not eating algae is an anomaly. But maybe it is just a 'spoit-brat' Algae Eater which has been fed with fish food.
Maybe you can just try and ensure it doesn't get any fish food, but that would be difficult, as they are extremely swift creatures which can beat any fish to the food.

I once bought two Chinese Algae Eaters and they cleared my thickly green tank within days, and then they starved to death because there's no more algae left.

You have a good point, they may have been fed fish food. Hope they will start eating the algae.

The algae is growing faster the the Amano can clear. I'm boosting CO2.

Noted, I manage to find some long roots and buried them. I have ensure the rhizome is on the substrate (exposed).

It's so sad to see the SAE died after it got tangled by the hair algae.

Yes, hair algae acts as a fishnet. It's dangerous for fish.

    Re: BoonBoy's New Tank!

    Currently plagued by Rhizoclonium.

Added more Amano shrimps, Otocinclus and did 3 consecutive days of 20% water change with little effect.

    Blackout day 1...

    Hope it helps.

Thanks for the advise. Actually, I had never fed fish food. Just light and CO2.
