They are tubifex worms
They are tubifex worms
If you are referring to those earthworms that some LFS sell with soil in plastic takeout containers... those can be suitable as composting worms.
I bought a box from Seaview a while back to try out in a small scale DIY compost bin, the worms ate up all the vegetable scraps and generated castings, so it worked.
Shifu UA,
I once dug up some earthworms from ground soil and kept them in the same soil. But somehow they did not manage to survive.
Do you think the worms you bought are the same type as these, or different? I am interested to keep them alive to feed my goldfish as snacks.
But I did manage to raise one batch of of BSF to adults in my compost bin though. I have no idea how I got them, could be from the banana peels/stubs I put in the bin.
LIFE IS UNBEARABLE WITHOUT A FISH TANK!!!
Anyone knows what the exact species of the worm is?
Eisenia Foetida?
Tried the earth worms from That and Seaview, both help in composting, but they are not multiplying like what I would expect as the compost Red worms. Anyone have Red compost worms to spare, I had lots of kitchen scraps weekly.
any one can spare some worms for my testing of composting. Thanks.
Carousel got someone selling or givinng away compost worms
