    Hi all,

I just started a tank recently. I already have fire reds inside.
My friend bought some Bloody Mary for me.

    Can I put them together?
I believe they will cross breed right?
What will the offsprings look like? Hahahaha

Bloody mary shrimps are supposedly dark red variants selectively line bred from chocolate shrimps, so a percentage of their offspring could be chocolate color too. They are all neocaridinia anyways.

If you mix fire red and bloody mary shrimps, you'll just get a combination of variable grade fire red, bloody mary and perhaps chocolate offsprings... which you'll just have to sort and cull to maintain/improve quality or if you are aiming for a certain color (as per normal practice when keeping neocaridinia shrimps).

    Thanks for the information.
Maybe will just separate them. Pedigrees are the best. Haha.

Re: Keeping Bloody Mary and fire red together

one question, does chocolate shrimps have short rostrums like bloody mary?

some of my bloody mary are not as red as i expected. even the shrimplets grew up to be orange-red.
hoping to put in chocolate shrimps to maybe get a better color from the offsprings. but don't want to break the special "short rostrum" which bloody mary has.

2nd tank done with cycling soon. time to start selective breeding. but don't know how to start.
should i just put those very dark red ones into the new tank and hope for the best? or remove the culls to another tank and keep the best looking ones in the main tank?
problem is i want to use 2nd tank as a breeding tank.
