    Re: glosso on led light

Just for quick reference, you can check out a 30cm low-tech no-Co2 tank by chansl which was able to grow a glosso carpet with an Up Aqua Z-Series Z-10 LED (10.7W) lightset:

    http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...t-Planted-Tank

For a 30cm height tank, depending on the soil height and distance of the glosso from the lights, you can try one set first... if necessary add another set to increase the overall intensity.

As for the glosso growing taller, trim them regularly to encourage lower lying growth. Over time, the new growth will gradually become shorter and more compact.

    Re: glosso on led light

The current up z series is stated 0.5w x 15 which is only 7.5w will it be enough. My tank soil is about 10cm thick so i only have 20cm left.

You'll just have to try and see... others are able to grow glosso carpets in low-tech tanks with the same light so that can be a guideline for suitability.

Its not just the light intensity that affects plant growth, there are also other factors like the newly added plants adapting to the new tank environment and the availability of Co2 and nutrients too.

If you are using ADA Amazonia aquasoil, it should have sufficient macro nutrients for the initial stages of plant growth, you just have to dose potassium and micro/trace nutrients to support the plant growth and avoid early deficiencies.

Can look at fertilizers like ADA Brightly K and ADA Green Brightly Step 1, or Tropica Premium. Just follow the bottle recommended dosages for a start, observe the plant growth, then increase dosages in stages as the plants grow out.

    Re: glosso on led light

For aquarium plants, its usually better to get submersed form if possible... they can transition and adapt much faster to the new tank environment, compared to emersed form which adapt slower (those need extra time to transition from emersed to submersed form).
