You might try this hose tightener. Usually i kiasu with my chiller, i use this tightener to connect to my chiller.

You did the right thing.

Leaking at the connecting joint usually means an ill-fitting coupling at the joint. Sometimes a slight difference in hose diameter will also give headaches. The solution is to ensure the coupling is tight and good.

Just a note when using the metal worm clamps... try not to tighten them too much on the hoses as sometimes it can cut into the hose material.

One solution is to add a layer of rubber strip in between to prevent the metal edge cutting into the hose.

I prefer to use cable tie, especially if yours is a marine tank. No worry of rust too.

While... you can always try tapping round the connector with white plumber tapes. My shiruba outflow leaks as well and thats what I did. White tape for the win. Problem is whenever you need to wash your filter you need to re-tape it.

Hi mameshrimps, thanks for the advice. I was just upset that I paid 100% of the cost, yet I have to deal with the leak. Further more it's a new set.

Yah.. he did, and he also helped to call the distributor to resolve it. He was helpful. Juz rumbling that the stress that I have to go thru.
