    Hi all i have a otto in my 1ft cube tank.. but the otto is not eatting the brown algae on my glosso.. should i get one more or is there any solution.. read up that nirate snail will do but i cant seems.to find any...

    Just give the oto some time to clear the algae... if you happen to have a small sized oto and the algae is growing faster than it can eat, then can just introduce another oto to help out.

    Nerite snails are useful, especially with the tougher spot algae that even otos can't consume. You can usually get them at most popular LFS like C328, Y618 or Seaview. Get the horned nerite snails as they are smaller and can climb on plant leaves more easily.

    Cherry shrimps will also consume the brown algae, they can go into small areas to reach parts that otos and nerite snails can't access... introduce 20-30 of them to help clear the algae too.

    Effective algae management is all a matter of stocking a team of algae eaters which handle various types of algae and complement each others abilities.

    Thank you so much for your guidiance.. cherry shrimp might end up being meal for my apistogramma.. shall get the horn nerite snail tomorrow..

    Yeah, apistos will tend to snack on cherry shrimps... maybe you could try adding a few yamato shrimps instead, they are much larger in size so less likely to be eaten (full grown ones can be as large as the apistos themselves).

    Thanks thanks.. currently been using up aqua pro z as recommend by you with no issue on glosso just having brown algae issue. Shall get what u mention..
