Connecting TK1000 to the Fluval FX6

Picked up a new TK1000 chiller with a Eheim 1000 pump then realised that the Chiller takes in filtered water (duh!) .
Now I need to connect the outflow of the Fluval to the TK1000 inlet. Now the Teco has a 16mm (3/4inch) dia while the Fluval has a Dia of 34mm.

Where can I get the correct sized connector with corresponding stop valves so that I can set it up? Its pretty drastic, 16mm to 34mm!

It would have been easier to set the chiller up with my Eheim 2224 which I use for my CO2 system but its pretty old and the actual flowrate is definitely well below the 500 l/hr minimum flow rate recommended by Teco.

A suggestion: connect the Eheim 1000 pump to a pre filter then to the chiller. Add double taps for easier cleaning of pre filter. You may need 12/16 to 16/22 connector valves though.

That sounds good to me thank you! However I don't have any experience in prefilters, which one would any of you recommend I buy for this purpose?

Eheim has prefilters; try looking for them at Qian Hu. They are simply filters without the motor compartment. Alternatively, you can get a 2nd hand Eheim filter, take out its impeller and use it as a prefilter. I'm currently doing this as my setup

Advantage is I have an immediate backup filter should my main filter fails.
