Are you using co2 in your tank?
My Eheim 2217 is having air bubbles.
I have checked and tightened all my hose connections but it still leaked air in.
I went a step further by applying plumber's tape to all hose joints. But it still have air bubbles.
I went one more step by applying the plumber's tape in the canister inlet joint and also the canister head biggest O ring. But there are still air bubbles.
I have no idea what more to do. I now suspect air maybe leaking in through the 2 double tap assemblies or the canister housing the impeller.
Any ideas from the experts ?

If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
I am not using CO2 in my tank.
Do you use any surface skimmer connecting to eheim 2217 inlet?
It will be nice to share out more on the filter connection setup.

No. I do not connect any surface skimmer to the 2217 inlet. Just a direct inlet tube.
The outlet is connected to a sand filter where I can see micro bubbles going out.
Gave up diagnosing.
Nowadays I just shake the 2217 once every 2 or 3 days to get rid of the incoming bubbles.
Leaked bro. Change the o ring
