Better hurry up Bros, deadline not too far away.
.... it's about participating, not winning.... heehee(anyway....my tank won't stand a chance with those guy's from Japan!
Hope you guys have been getting your tanks ready for the competition...
Like last year, AQ will help local members do a group submission for ADA Contest 2005. Here are the details:
ADA requirements (for digital images):
- Take photo only from front side of tank.
- You can send in many layouts but only one photo per layout.
- Do not make image processing such as trimming or retouch.
- Image is to be taken with 3.0 megapixels (or better) in high resolution mode. Format in TIFF or JPG.
What will AQ help to do?
- Send the photos to a good photo lab to print them in 5R size.
- Collate the pictures/ entry form/ images into a CD and mail by registered post to ADA.
How to submit?
- Take the photo and do your own colour correction. Save in TIFF or JPG.
- Fill in the entry form.
- For each layout, email the entry form and photo to me ([email protected]) by 15-Apr-2005 (Friday).
- The mailbox can take maximum 10mb per email. Please do not exceed that.
- I should respond within a day when I receive it. If you don't hear from me, please contact me at 92201986.
- I will send you my POSB account for you to transfer SGD$2 per layout to cover the printing/ mailing cost. Only when it is confirmed that the transaction has taken place that we will help you submit. Members without the above mode of payment can get their friends/ relatives to help.
Important dates:
15-Apr-2005: Deadline to email pictures to AQ for submission. We need some time to print and mail the photos to ensure they reach ADA on time.
17-Apr-2005: Last day of payment.
18-20 Apr-2005: Printing images/ mailing.
30-Apr-2005: Contest closes.

Good Luck everyone!!! Next Year i SURELY join!! tank not ready this year...oh well..
FYI, this is the way of some Hong Kongers present their masterpiece to ADA.
Really impressive i must say!
Aquatic plants and LEGO collector.
very professionally done, and have high chances of scoring.

I have seen other similar submissions that were had good presentation packaging. At the time I thought that it showed that the sender had a deeper understanding of the receivers [Japanese] culture and the context in which the competition entries would be received.
Everything in Japan is about the details, processes and managing expectations; items given to other people are often packaged elaborately to signify the importance of “thought” behind them and the status of the receiver.
It is very well presented and packaged.
Our submission is just the bare minimum to save on postage. Will give it a thought next year.

but i remember the guidelines- can only send one photo of the tank....
Yes you are correct, but they didn't say how many times that photo could be used, for example on the CD Case, CD itself, Plant List etc.Originally Posted by joestoys
There is probably a fine line between presentation embellishment to be remembered positively and presentation excess and potential non-compliance with the entry criteria.
