Looks kind of high tech in a natural looking landscape tank! But the mist creates a nice effect. Has anyone tried easylife filter medium....wonder if it achieves similar results on water quality?

Quite cool! I think this is something like an electrical pulse maker that they use in Koi ponds to rupture Algae Cells... May work but sure looks very expensive!

    Re: Algae buster

Just to share my experience I used the original twin star (when it first came out) in a regular 28 degree tank before. I did this with 2 tries one try when there were already hair algae in the tank and second try when the tank was totally new(the instruction recommend using it from the start). Result was not effective algae still grew in both tanks although the misting effect was nice.

From trying things out if you want lower algae outbreak water temperature plays an important part, the lower it is the lesser outbreak there is. If your temperature is 28 and above even with this product you will still get algae. So warning to those who want to buy this, it is really not a miracle cure so think before you buy.

Better lower temperature, good cleaning crew, proper fertilizer dosage regime and proper light control are still the core to prevent algae outbreak.

It slows down the growth of algae, example: you will usually experience growth of algae in 2 months after a cleaning. But if you use twin star, maybe you will only need to do so every quarterly.

See if any other bros who used it before have a better feedback. To me this product I do not see any benefits after using it for almost 1 year. If people are looking for miracle solution like what UV filters does for green water I think most will be disappointed, I know I was.
