yes they breed like rabbits. if you have a cannister filter, becareful when you wash it out, highly likely you will find shrimps living in there which they got in when they're young. I once found close to 30 shrimps when I cleaned my Eheim 2222.

so far cherries seem to breed true amongst themselves, but bee and tigers seem to hybridise, producing what I called a Jaguar shrimp

    Is this true?

I got 10 cherry shrimps about 6 week ago and all missing except 1, may be now they're living in my Eheim 2213 external filter and multiply themselves already?

only the young ones get sucked into the filter. the adults usually wouldn't get pass the grille, they probably just hiding in the plants.

I have the very tiny ones. If they do suck into the filter, would they still survive after 6 weeks?

What do the baby/micro shrimps look like?

Can they actually be spotted when they hatch?

bsically they look like shrimps just ultra small.... they hatch direct into shrimps unlike some other like yamato, malayan and a few more... bees and tiger and crs also hatch direct

    hope this helps.

Hi, I just brought a 1ft Cube tank recently with the intention of breeding Cherry Shrimp. And only shrimp tank. Should I recycle the tank for 1 to 2 weeks before introducing the shrimp?

Planned to plant Taiwan moss a base and some tree branches in the centre. a Simple mini internal filter and 18w PL light, no CO2. Would this set-up work for the shrimp only tank or Any other suggestion/advice? Thanks.

if it is just shrimps, don't even need filter.
