Think you are probably referring to ghost shrimps or glass shrimps:

plenty in our local lakes and reservoirs I think.
When I was young I would very often go catch shrimps in Jurong Lake with my dad.
We would dig at the sides of the banks with our nets and would collect at least 10 - 20 shrimps with each scoop.
They were yellowish/lightbrown but mostly transparent, about 1-2" in length. (looks kind of like Amanos)
I have been trying to find out the exact type of shrimp those were, but its hard to find any info online.
I am hoping that someone who is more familiar with local shrimp types can tell me what kind of shrimps those were.
Thanks in advance!
Peace,
James

I think there's a type of dwarf freshwater shrimp called 'caridina temasek'
There is a species of dwarf freshwater shrimp in Jurong Lake, it is smaller than 2" definitely and very prolific. Not sure of the species however. http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ight=shaihulud
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and he will drink beer while getting sunburnt.
