It might be due to worn out impeller sleeve or damaged impeller, have to open it up to check.

Good morning everyone,
I wanted to check with you guys encountered such noise with your Eheim classic canisters.
I had two 2213 and they both had this problem.
Currently just using one and had it connected to a chiller before output.
Don't think the noise is normal and suspect that I may need to replace some parts due to wear and tear. The canisters are bought 2 years ago.
Thanks in advance!

Change the impeller will do.
Just checked both canisters. There seems to be no issue with the impeller and the noise suddenly is gone.
But another problem pops up. My water flow seems to drop, despite I change the sponge and clean the canister including the impeller. Can't figure out what is the problem or clogged area. Argh.

Is time to change a new one. Unless you wanna try to replace the impeller and shaft then decide again. ..also run without the media and see how is The flow ..
Check the hose if there are any kink in the line.

You can try turning on and off the filter in quick succession so as to release any trapped air. It works every time on my Eheim 2213. Also make sure that the inlet hose is below the water line and that its sucking in water as per normal.
