Ok, here are my tank pics, just show you guys how it looked like about a year ago and what it is now. Jungle out there. No idea how to correct the visual aesthetics. Moving the plants is out of the question. Roots too far in.

    one year ago....

    and now....

ok, you might be wondering.. so many discus? It's only TEMPORARY, for a while only, holding them for A week for a friend.

Your first pix look nice.. dunno how are your other 3 pixs.

BTW, I am very interested in how you raised up the gravel.

    Phwoah!
Spilo...isn't dat aponogeton compact? Anyway, me thinks it might look interesting if ur whole terrace is filled wif it. Your lotus didn't survive? Don't see it anymore...

Me having prob wif my own tanks too...plants overgrowing the tank.

Anyway, if u don wanna adjust ur camera (or dunno how to) i think u cld try containing the light saturation by turning off some of ur tank lights...the rest of ur pics look fine except for the top side of the leaves, which i feel can only be explained by the amt of light shining down on it. Just my opinion...

Wow! Your tank is choking with too many plants...
Be careful, Some of the more delicated plant will be suffocated.

Try to prune a bit.. You are mentioning the the roots is too deep to uproot them. Why not just cut off the whole plants and any new shoot from it after that. I'm sure that plant will die after some time...

Worst come to worst, it time to re-scape it. Unless you are happy with it's look now.

that is aponogenton compact? Can anyone verify that titan in me tank?

Lotus was sold to someone else, exchange really.

Nope, no intention to rescape, the muck that it will generate and the discus in there... no.. maybe I might just let it fill the entire terrace. It's flowering anyway. Will take a pic once the flower blooms.

Aponogeton compact?? where? i only see Nuphar japonica and Crypt balansae (the long one).
Since you have a flower, it will be very easy to ID. Nuphar have yellow flowers with petals, Aponogetons have flower spikes. Also, Apononeton is bulb growth, Nuphar is rizhome growth.

Looks like a Nuphar, also from the way it propagated from one end of the terrace, there's gotta be a great big rhizome in there, might even burst through your terrace [:0]
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Nuphar it must be, not in the mood to rescape really, somewhat happy but also somewhat not happy with the way it looks too.

See how lor, whole terrace with Nuphar may take up to 3 years I think. It took about a year for it to be this size, so.... and my discus got not much space to swim.

Have not seen a Aponegeton "compacta" before... Aponogeton ulvaceus on the other hand, it rather common. Maybe Aponogeton ulvaceus was what you were thinking of.
