You still need some depth of soil for plants, says 2 inches across whole tank. For the rear side that you want to put higher to create the sloop, put small lava rocks below 2 inches soil.... just a thought...

I have around 1-1.5 inches for the front. Alright I think I might need to replant if that's the case
The back is already around 6-10cm tall. Hmmm I still considering if I should add more soil...
Ya, not necessarily 2 inches thick, just an example. I'm using lesser than that too..

Be careful when adding too much soil, a thick substrate might cause anaerobic conditions in the long run. If you really want to achieve a higher slope, like what bro gimhchng said, add a few lava rocks below and top up with soil. This way you use lesser soil to achieve what you want. Lava rocks are also very porous giving more surface area for beneficial bacteria.
So I decided to buy another packet of ADA Amazonia.
I changed the hard scape a little but overall it's the same look. I added lava rocks below the hard scape also to elevate the rocks. And I also replanted the Monte Carlos while separating them into smaller bunches.
I also went on and planted my other scape with Monte Carlos and started with the DSM in the next tank.
Thus, this will be my official week 1 update of my tank.
I'm officially naming this as the "Pasture's Edge"
Can't wait to see how it will turn out 3 months down the road!
And this will officially be known as the "Pasture's End"
I'll be adding bushes of rotala rotundifolia and rotala sp green extending from the right corner out!
Looks good! Nice job in the aquascaping! I'm still a noob in this department.
Just an idea if you decide to change scape in the future. For multiple tank owner, there is a scape you could go for IF you have placed your tank side by side. The 1 scape look but using 2 tank method, both tank scaping looked as 1 aquascaping masterpiece, starting from 1 tank and end in the 2nd tank. You could use chopped driftwood to have the continuation look from 1 tank to the other, with the part of the driftwood hanging between the 2 tank, in between the glass tank itself. Youtube has a few results.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
Instead of lava rocks to create a pile for height, can we use bacteria rings instead?
Anything that is inert could be used to increase the soil depth.

Update!
Week 3:
I received a bunch of trimmed rotala from a friend and they were starting to die so I had to flood one of the tank to plant them in.
Also, the bogwood I had was growing mushrooms and fungi. So I had to remove it to let it completely dry first before putting it back in.
Pasture's End
Filter: Atman DF-700
Lights: 30w custom LED lights
Temperature: 26-28°C, ANS Cooling fan
Photo period: 8hrs
CO2: 3bubbles per second, ISTA inline external reactor
Ferts: 1ml daily, Tropica Premium Fertiliser
Substrate: ADA Amazonia normal type
Flora: Monte Carlos, Rotala sp green, Rotala rotundifolia, staurogyne repens
Pasture's Edge update:
Still in the process of DSM, going week 3 but I have yet to notice much growth in the plants... They don't seem to be carpeting much at all. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. Also my Eleocharis sp mini seems to be dying too...
Dry Start Method:
Lights: Custom 30w LED
Photo period: 14hrs
Substrate: ADA Amazonia
Flora: Monte Carlos, Eleocharis sp mini
Spraying water in it 3 times daily.
why do you need the CO2 checker in a DSM? thought it should be used under water?
I will encourage you to flood your tank .. blast CO2 and high light... MC is not that hard to grow..
as for your wood, did you treat them before putting into water? at least use boiling hot water to soak it for a day or 2, what is the point o drying it and putting it back into your fish tank? won't it get wet again?
The CO2 checker I've transferred to the flooded tank but didn't update in the photo.
I have yet to get the second canister filter so I can't really flood the other tank now
I think I'll flood it this Saturday after I collect the Eheim 2213.
As for the wood, I'm trying to dry it completely so the fungi will die off. I didn't manage to soak it in boiling water because the wood is too big to fit in any pot I have, but I've ran it through boiling water a couple of times.
no filter still can flood lar..
find a pail that can soak the wood partially then pour hot water and dip inside hot water...
once in the tank , add some algea eating crew and they'll finished everything for you
Is it weird if I change the name of my tank. HAHA well, i think the name "Hillside" sounds so much better than Pasture's End. But as for Pasture's Edge, I'm still in the process of thinking up something better.
Anyway, I've decided to go into turbo mode for the Hillside.
Photo period: 12hrs
CO2 : 4-5bps for 12hrs (30mins earlier than the lights)
Fertiliser: Tropica Premium Fertiliser 2ml daily
The rotala plants have been pearling right from the start but the monte Carlos aren't really pearling. They barely make one or two bubble per cluster. Any reason why? I've also noticed their leaves are melting away due to the transition as well!
Rotala do tend to transition much faster and also pearl more easily too... your MC is probably still in transition mode (hence the melting emersed/older leaves) so it's normal to observe less pearling effect from them at this time. They are directing more resources to recovering and establishing roots.
Once they transition and start growing healthy submersed leaves, then you should see them pearl more actively as the carpet increases in density.
