First high tech planted tank corner

So recently, I just turned 21 and my mom sponsored one 2ft tank set while I paid for the other one myself. The plan is to have 2 2ft tanks share 1 CO2 cylinder and the plan is finally on its way This is my first high tech planted tank!!

Bought my rocks and stuffs too, all prepared and ready to set up! I have an image in mind for the left tank, it'll be an iwagumi scape with a small moss tree on the right side.
But the right tank I haven't decide what kind of scape I want... So I guess I'll set up the first one when I have the time!

I'm gonna use this thread as sort of a journal to keep track of the changes and updates in my tank! Hopefully this'll become a good documentary of how I set up a corner of planted tanks!

HAHAHA yup poisoning everyone who chance upon this post. What's better than seeing a planted tank being set up from scratch? 2 planted tanks!!
I currently have a Eheim 2026 connected into an external reactor. The other will be another canister connected into an external reactor too!

I'll update the tank specs once I've set up everything completely

Outside is a corridor so none of the sunlight actually enters my house through that window!

Hey guys, how's CNY!
Just a quick question, I've been soaking my rocks and changing water after a few days for awhile now, but every time the water in the bucket always ends up at ph 8 after a few days.
Was wondering if I soak them longer, will they become inert over time?
Or is it okay mixing with ADA Amazonia since the soil will lower the ph right? I'm looking to get around 6.5ph in my tank.

Any pros out there know what to do? Or whether or not I'll get my 6.5ph?

To expedite the process, give the stones a good scrub and leave it in for 1 or 2 more weeks. The ph will always go up a little. It will never become totally inert but with the soaking and scrubbing, you basically make the stones release less and the ph will increase marginally.

The ADA soil will bring the ph down too. However, the best is still to scrub and soak the stones first.

It's just the ANS 3000 cooling fan!

Just a quick update, I wanted to set up my tank last week but my custom lights wasn't complete! Then recently I just got the lights too but they're faulty so I can't really do much until the lights are ready!

Hopefully can start on Monday night if the lights are up and running by then!!

If I were you, I would have already set up the tank to cycle my filter earlier, without the lights.

I would want to start cycling earlier too but I don't want to fill up my tank without planting first!
Maybe today I'll do the scape since I have nothing to do anyway!

Yeah.. maybe you could start planning your hardscape play around first.. when the light is ready you could just start planting as the hardscpae is already up..

I have no idea what rocks are these so don't ask me.. I've soaked them for about 2weeks or so and hopefully they won't make my tank alkaline.. Gonna start with my iwagumi tank first!

Anyway I just finished my iwagumi scape! Comments please! Also I'd like to know whether the soil is thick enough at the front for monte Carlos carpet. How thick should the soil be actually?

I completely used up a 9L ADA Amazonia and I still have 1 more.
