I bought a Aquaspeed A1200E energy saving sub. pump and after 3 months... The vane of the rotor broke and stand pipe also broke. Any recommendations for more versatile pump?

Hi there Ant Joey! I'm not a frequent user of submersible pumps so all I can share is my experience. I have a Boyu 1200 pump that works really great for my DIY projects. However I'm not sure if that's the one you will require and as I said, I don't have much experience. What will you be using the pump for? May I ask?

I would reccommend the Eheim Compact series. Pretty resilient.

    Hi happydanio,

I used to use it for my old tank and now use it for the return pump from the sump in my aquaponics setup. Not sure why, perhaps the weight of the water in the pvc pipe connected to the pump is too much for it to handle, plus the vibration could have caused the stem pipe to break.

I will take a picture to show later.

OK.. This the broken stand pipe from my submersible pump Aquaspeed A1200E.

And the white piece is the broken vane from the rotor blades. I'm not sure am I using the right term.

Hi there AntJoey! It looks quite bad! Why don't you use flexible hose instead! It is less rigid and the vibrations would surely be less.
