    Here is the evidence

This is by far my "largest" aquarium in my little space at home. Compare to my previous 2X1.5x1.5 (housing 20 cichlids), this 2x2x2 is quite massive with depth and space.

Filteration, I invested in Atman DF1000
Stand: As usual (as in all my previous projects), I use ikea cheap lack - added multiple legs.

Lighting: Current slim led light is not bright enough to penetrate deep into my new tank. Good or bad? Pro: dimmer light may bring out the cichlid colors, but I still prefer brighter light for maximum viewing pleasure.

Rocks - tonnes of holey white rocks from previous tank.

Cichlids: The more colorful the better. Already bought couple of Yellow Lab, some peacocks, and my usual mbunas (all housed in old tank). Tropheus will be on its way and probably get 1 pc Demarsoni too.

See how things go from here....

I have released a couple not so attractive ones and took away the coral. Now very spacious. Not planning to add anymore fishes since there are enough colors I like and the fishes have bonded and become "friends". So far so good lah. They swim well, eat well and almost look like round pig rather than grow in length...

It takes skill to select fishes.

    1) You lots of hiding places,
    2) select fishes that don't like to chase others (especially when you are seeing them at the LFS)
    3) choose about same size
    4) Start all of them from young and they grew up together
    4) Feed them well.
    5) Mabuna cichlid tend to be more agressive and fierce than the rest
    6) I prefer Tanganyika cichlid more colorful and less agressive, but peacock can grow quite large and territorial unless they grow up together or about the same size.

    7) Monitor their behavior regularly, give or sell those that tend to be a regular aggressor.

No more update. I shifted my dwelling place already...lol

They can be territorial and agressive towards others during sexing or pregnancy/breeding (esp Mabuna).
I prefer to buy all males with no female. More colorful.

There are many types of cichlids that are not so aggressive - dolphine, Burundi frontosa, duboisi, venustus. in my opinion.

Love your cichlid setup. May I know where you get the large rock at the background? How much did it cost?

Bro this is my cichlid set up just to share and I am currently looking for larger peacocks. If you have any larger ones we can do a trade if you prefer the smaller guys. Lol

I got those from Y618, much cheaper as compared to SV price. Nevertheless, those are still very expensive holey white rocks and very heavy as compared to holey lava rock.

Due to prolong hibernation for some unforesseable reasons, my apology for not seeing the replies coming. Anyone who can't see the earlier photos are welcomed to visit my humble blog - nothing spectacular but the usual diary of a broke guy low-tech budget tanks.
