Most LFS stock these 2 plants. If they don't you can ask them to bring it in for you. Yes you can plant them in the substrate as long as the rhizome isn't buried.

If you have problem planting them then tie them to small rocks or pebbles as sinkers.

Thanks guys, ordering fr lfs will take quite sometime as I'm doin my tank reset now.
Getting loose plants as I believe is much cheaper than those tied on rocks or woods, am getting I think quite lot of tis low profile plants.
Another thing I went thru forum saying java fern need to rooted out of sand substrate or else it wont survive, isit true?
Hello rubbersandal, you can try seaview aquarium as they usually have a good number of plants on sale and I've seen cups of java, christmas and flame moss along with anubias being sold loosely.
Thks Marc they dont have it loose on java so no choice.
While most LFS usually sell java ferns tied to wood... look further at their plant retail tanks to see if they also stock java ferns in pots (usually submerged in trays along with many other plants) or sometimes even sold in packets. It all depends on their stock availability.
Places like C328, Polyart, East Ocean, OTF, Aquatic Avenue, Green Chapter, Fishy Business etc have submersed plant retail tanks, so you can shop around to find them.
Can try capricon farm at pasir ris farmway
