Can call up c328 and check. They do sell it for $160 if I'm not wrong.

Hi everyone, anyone know where I can get a AL30 minichiller? GC / eastocean / fresh&marine no stock. Someone selling on carousell but need wait 2weeks and I am more keen on getting ready stock from shop.
My old AL30 uplorry recently, I am quite happy with it on my 21litres which able to cool to 26.5 deg on daytime non aircon room but running continuously. Night time can cool to my set temperature of 25 deg with 50%kickin

Are TEC coolers powerful enough to chill the tanks in our hot weather? Even for the small tanks.
They work off ambient temperatures as the technology is essentially allowing for much faster heat exchange. The TEM, when placed in a windy area (to aid in dissipating heat) should allow up to 4 degrees differential from what I've read. Seems like many people have claimed to be able to get around 26-27 degrees in Singapore weather. Still abit shy of subtropical temperatures or optimal for CRS, etc.. As with all chillers, buying 1 size up should help too.
Disclaimer: I don't have 1st hand experience with the AL-30/60.. Just basing off theoretical knowledge.. I've also been considering between the AL-60 and an actual refrigerant based chiller (HC-100A) for my ADA 45-P.

Better to get a 2nd hand chiller. Don't have to worry about inconsistency in temperature but it consumes quite abit of electricity.
As what vannel mentioned, TEM is largely dependant on the ambient temperature which varies throughout the day.
TEM might be the a good solution for small tanks 30 litres and below as chillers require a decent flow rate for its optimal usage.
A cheap alternative is cooling fan. Ans cooling fan 3000 is quite good but you would have to top up water daily.

Weather so hot these days. The benefits I can think of are its small size and low power consumption.
would the tec consume less power than compressor type chillers?
Yes definitely. If I'm not wrong hailea hs28a 240 watt. Al30 is only 100 watt.

The HS-28A is meant for larger tanks. So that's not really a fair comparison. Depending on kick in and kick out timings, your mileage may vary.

Agreed with Vannel,.....if HS-28a kick in for 10 mins every hour and AL30 kick in for 24 mins every hour for the desire temperature, the power consumption is the same.
moreover, Haliea and other "bigger" cooler last for years, I am not too sure about AL30. Maybe AL30 user can share their experience on its reliability.
Oh that didn't come into my mind. I've been using the cooling fan and upgraded to a chiller. Electricity bills increased $10 to $15. Nothing to be concerned about though.

Hi! May I know the average cost of running the chiller for your specific tank size?
