    Does uv light reali help eliminate algae.. or only certain algae.. does is affect on ferts too?

    Yes, it is effective against floating algae diatoms, you will see much lesser algae on the tank wall. It will kill those algae that gets into the water after you scrap them off the wall. But those established Algae that are already established will have no impact.

    Establish algae as in?.. currently im facing gda.. thought of using canister with uv light..

    A pass-through UV light only helps eliminate algae which is suspended in the water, eg green water algae. When using one, make sure the water flow is very slow, otherwise the algae will only enjoy a quick 'massage' at most.

    Try chemicals like Algaexit or Seachem Flourish Excel overdosed. Or simply do a 90% water change. I personally find those more efficient as a whole.

    90% water change will gonna cost my live stock bro.. my tank have co2 dosing excel seems weird.. maybe algaexit sounds gd..

    If you have no shrimps or snails and only have plants & fishes, try API algaefix. Super effective. Will clear string, hair, brush... and many other Algae. Dose every 3 days and you see significant results in less than 2 weeks.

    Be warned !! very potent! please do not over dose.

    I have malaya shrimp and snail in my tank.. damn than i cant use it.. my only algae issue is gsa/gda...

    Apistonika, why can't you just do a big water change to clear off excess nutrients? I don't think it will kill your livestock.

    Current tap water had too much chroline and other chemical.. doing large water change might cause my tank parimeter to change alot. But i always did a weekly wayer change of 30% to 40% though..
