If you need larger amounts of Seachem Matrix, can look at getting the 4L bucket of it, works out cheaper per liter.

For Purigen, you can look at getting the loose form in bottles (instead of the ones in packs), it works out cheaper too. But you will need to get suitable secure mesh bags to hold the loose purigen granules (preferable 180 micron mesh).

I made some enquiries by calling Clementi Florist 328 and the boss quoted 17 bucks for 1 liter and 58 bucks for 4 liters.

Yeah, any excess bio-media can be used in another filter or just keep in storage for future usage.
