Been posting many male endler hybrids phtotos in the past and I thought maybe I should post some females for a change instead. Many female endlers are colorless as we know but sometimes certain traits are so dominant that they crossed over to the females as well.
I've been breeding many generations of tiger endlers and had witnessed many crossovers to the X-chromosome.
Above is just 2 pics, you can see some faint 'tiger' pattern on the caudal fins of both females. I find the 2nd pics more interesting as the subject pattern is also on its dorsal. I'd a number of females with faint tiger patterns on their bodies too, but pics not available....taking shots can be quite time consuming as the fish do not always keep still

Yes, what seems to be a Y-linked trait may actually be possible on the X-chromosome. Understand someone in Germany managed to have even the Japan Blau trait on its female, I have yet come across one myself. Guppy genetics are far more complex than we think.
Phenotypes are the almagamation of so many genes working together that it's quite impossible to get a good handle on things. As it is, even the experts in guppy genetics have differing schools of thought.
A fish with a known crossover gene makes a good breeding specimen since it'll allow you to create a new phenotype from it.
