Hi, came this thread a bit too late. This morning, noticed my 1 year old Betta sort of sitting up, most likely died or dying.
The symptom is like what is described, near gills/stomach area bloated. Could it be due to overfeeding?

Tried the pea method and separating it to a different tank (to prevent it from eating the food for the
other fishes) apparently did not help it.... From experience, maybe, this is one good reason to place betta
in a separate tank - to prevent it from consuming food for the other fishes. Right?
