I finally decided to get a UV filter after my cloudy water (both green and white) has been bothering me for 3 weeks.

This is my first external use equipment. I am pretty concern over the "safety" of using external aquarium equipment. I definitely doesn't want to come back to a flooded house and a drained tank.

Like to learn from you people what are the play-safe measures which I can have?

My main concern here is only the connecting rubber hose, since the UV filter is new and I suppose it wont fail me anytime soon.

If you have doubt with the connecting rubber hose then cable tie it to be extra safe, anyway I'm sure everyone of us here have experience flooding before,it is part of learning in this hobby, a damn hassle.
