Hi guys, just began my journey on setting up aquarium not too long ago.

I am using using a 2litre co2 with Ocean Free Soleniod Regulator. It looks excatly like this.

Now, itchy fingers. Wanted to set up a second hand. I am thinking if i need to re-buy another set of Co2 tank with Soleniod or can i share the gas using a two way tube or something like that.

I saw an ANS splitter sold in Seaview but the guy told me that might potentially not work with the regulator. Anyone knows why? He say can try. As the splitter is not cheap, i dont want to take any chances and thought of asking from the folks here.

The splitter should be able to attach to that regulator (just remember that you will also need a 2nd bubble counter for the 2nd tank)... what the shop guy mentioned about potential issue is probably due to the subsequent reduction in working pressure from each port when the gas flow is split.

If the working pressure of the regulator is not high enough, or the Co2 diffusers/atomizers you use in each tank require higher pressures to work, when you split them the pressure will drop, so there may not be enough pressure to run those multiple diffusers at the same time.

You'll probably just have to test and see if it works for your particular setup, then adjust the parts configuration if necessary.

It is difficult to control the flow of co2 using a splitter cause air will move to the path of less resistance. Just like UA said the working pressure of each equipment is different, you have multiple gadget attached to your co2 tank like the regulator and atomizer which make it a tedious job in controlling the co2 flow for each tank. My advise is get another c02 tank,it save you the hassle.

Hi, is this OF regulator a good buy?

Should be I've tried UP and ANS.
ANS cocked up and UP still going strong
However haven't put the UP through the "Rite of initiation" which is running it on a ceramic diffuser which I did for the ANS.
Does this have an adjustable pressure knob that allows you to adjust pressure inside the Regulator? UP has that and I think that's what allows it to survive ceramic diffuser that need high pressure.

    Cheers,
