    Hi, need some advice.

Was doing my weekly maintainance yesterday and must have accidently touch the Co2 knob. This morning all my fishes dead and I found my CO2 blasting away like 100bps.

    i have zero bioload now.

Was thinking about switching to Discus for my planted tank and I have zero experience in keeping discus.

Can Discus be keep in a chilled tank of about 25-26C?

If temperature is your only concern then yes discus thrive in that temperature.

However planted and discus dont go well together unless you are a real expert. Water needs to be pristine with low tds especially if you are keeping young discus. So EI is most probably out.

And they need to be fed very regularly with huge water changes. I think you can forsee alot of challenges if you were to juggle this and keeping your plants happy too

But if course there are success stories. It only takes twice the work to succeed

Wow, seems like it's a real challenge. I have already bought 5pcs . Will see how things goes. Do you know if there are any sites that teaches how to identify a good grade discus?

Yes, only a few started to eat a little, tried frozen brine shrimps, daphnia, blood worms, pallets & beef heart. Seems like they prefer beef heart and brine shrimps only.

Due to in experience in choosing discus, I think I have picked up a few stunt discus .

With your experience does those discus with stripe looks stunt to you? Or because they are juvenile?

Re: Discus in Planted Tank with chiller

Water holds heat quite well, so if a heater is tuned off, the temp decrease would be very gradual. Most fish can go a long way down, within reason, if the decrease is slow.

What they can't take is a large bounce down in temps.....up isn't too bad
