Nice!!
decide on what you want...
rock scape or wood scape...
get at least 2 packs of ADA if you want a high slope back...
Yup. ADA Soil is a good choice! You can choose the ADA Powder Aquasoil which has finer size so that the tank look more spacious and plant easier, too.
Next step is go to google, youtube, pinterest to find more inspiration on the aquascaping setup. Take your time, no need to rush.

I saw on YouTube that it is recommended to put a layer of Powersand....is it necessary?

I used only ADA Aquasoil Powder type for my scape and it is doing fine. ADA PowerSand anyway is an option if your budget is allowed, but it is not compulsory to have it.

I'm now stuck with 2 options.
1. 2ft tank with brown cabinet
2. 2ft tank with white cabinet (Slightly smaller width but nicer overall look)
Collected a 2 footer from fellow bro here.
- Filled up with water, plugged in with canister filter, CO2 and LED lights.
- Tank comes with Subtract and partial MC.
- Bought a few dragon rock to scape it.
Any suggestion to make it look better?
definitely the white one. maybe add a piece of wood the same size as the tank for better support?
move half the height of front gravel to back and create a slope. the front soil is too too thick.
what is the damage to your wallet like for this setup?
$200 bro....really a good deal that I got

your tank looks different and still the white setup rocks!
what is on top of your light? is it the ballast or adapter? please secure it just in case it drops into the water.
maybe you can try running the black power line to the light holder and that will minimise the cable cluter you had.
If you are usin ADA products, please try to use all of it's recommended system products. Power sand is a must. Why? Power sand provides aeration and a home to house your bacteria. It also helps your plant to root. Get Tourmaline and Super Bacter to accompany your power sand. There's also a premix pack with everything inside. It helps alot and trust me, your plants will do better and less chances of cyanobacteria in your substrate. Till now my substrate is always clean and free of cyanobacteria. I can ss if you wanna see. Almost a year now
Learning new things everyday !!!
Day 1 - After clearing some parts of the tank and added in plants (foreground and background.)
Day 3 - Done a little trimming and added in some shrimps
Is this shrimp pregnant?
