Easy to keep, and very hardworking in cleaning algae. Similar to Amano Shrimps but less aggressive.

Good to have it in aquarium. The way it swims also very cute haha

However, do note that it had a tendency to jump out of ur aquarium

Thanks so much for your reply. I'm thinking of getting about 3-4 together with small fishes like tetra. The red nose are bigger than my tetras. It should be fine?

    Re: Red nose shrimp

Red nose shrimps (RNS) are generally hardy shrimps and peaceful towards most other fishes and shrimps too, they are excellent scavengers though so you might find that they tend to swoop in and grab food away quicker than your other livestock.

As what kaen130 mentioned, RNS are expert jumpers, way more jumpy than other shrimps. You will experience that first-hand when netting them out from LFS tanks. Majority of us who keep RNS lose them more to being discovered dried out on the floor (aka "heybi"), rather than in the tank.

Note that some people (including me) have experienced RNS munching on delicate plants like moss fronds and floater roots until bare. It could be due to lack of food or algae (and their great appetite) which prompt them to turn on soft plants, so its something to keep an eye on.
