    Hi Fellow hobbyist

When the CO2 canister is just refilled, my reading on my ANS gauge is 1000 psi. When do you refill? At 0? I was told by one of the uncle at Bioplast that the CO2 would not be "pure" and your plants will not be as "nice" for readings below 300 psi. Is that true? What is your practices?

    TIA

I hardly look at gauge. Will top up when there is no more CO2 in the tank. Never had any problem.

Usually when a Co2 cylinder is full, the gas is supposed to be in liquid form and the pressure will stay constant. From what i understand, when you see the pressure start dropping its a sign that only gas is left in the cylinder and getting used up fast. At that point when pressure drops to 900, 800, 700 etc, i find that it will be depleted very soon.

Most of the time i will send my Co2 cylinders for refilling when their total pressure drops below 500 PSI, mainly to avoid surprises whereby the gas output fluctuates when pressure gets too low or runs out for a few days when i'm not home or traveling.

I've noticed that when the pressure drops below 500, I have to increase the bubble count in order to see my co2 checker in the green zone. That makes me wonder then if each bubble is pure CO2 or not.
