Hi guys, just starting on a 3ft tank. Just need to gather some opinions on my tank layout. What do you think? Yay or nay?

    Re: First 3ft tank

Realised that the sand level is too low thus rush and bought another 2 packet of sand. I'm in the process of moving house, thus update will be slower. Intending to start the tank cycling this coming Sunday.

think you will need bigger rocks...
should start planting and tank cycling together.

Thank for the advice, but I'm still considering if I want to include plants or not. And also cause I don't drive, so kinda hard for me to buy a bigger aka heavier rock. Lol

Maybe you can try stacking your current rocks together to make them looks like one big piece, then decide on whether you need more rocks or not..

Oh yeah!! That's a great idea! Ok! Will try it tomorrow! Today just bought some new rocks, can I just ask, is it okay if I mix different kind of grey rocks together in a tank? Cause the 1 I bought today is different kind from my existing rocks.

most will advice not to use different rocks because it will look odd... but if it is hidden somewhere and not be seen then I think shouldn't be a problem

    Re: First 3ft tank

just a small update to my tank. Decided to change my plants.. out with the floating and in with some plants I got from nice people on carosell. Right now only right side of tank have plants.. still slowly hunting for plants for the other side.
Just a side note.. gravels from an semi-estabilished tank and Seachem stability really impress me! my tank cycled in exactly 1 week. I started the cycle on 25/9 and it's shows 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and 20 nitrate by 10/2, and my rummynose show their full red bloody nose all the while.. I used to have my doubts about seeding and Stability.. now I'm a believer!
P.S. can bros here advise me what 'colour' plant I can get.. needed get something other than green. As of now, I don't intend to get a chiller, probably will be starting CO2 gas by end of this month, for now i'm using liquid CO2. I douse macro fertilizer every alternate day and those days with no macros, i'll douse with a few drops of micro. Using beamwork high Lumen 90 and light period is usually from 6.30am-9pm.. after that will switch to the 'moonlight' mode as I find the tank is really dark after switching off the light, scared my fish 'phobia' lol. Fish are mostly tetras and cory. Thanks in advance for any advices!

Yes the fern-looking plant in the middle is not a true aquatic plant.
