Otos do eat other foods if given the opportunity (mine eat fish pellets and wafers too)... they are not strictly herbivores, more like omnivores. It's just that their mouths and digestive systems are developed to graze on soft algae more effectively.

I wanted to upload a short video of my Oto grazing on a dead fish of mine, but was unsuccessful.

Yeah, they can sometimes do that too... although they can't bite or chew on meat like other fishes, they can graze on bits of dead flesh that happen to be flaking off.

I usually remove dead fish immediately though, 'cos it might be harbouring disease or parasites which may transfer to other fishes that feed on it.
