I realise this might be a little OT but has anyone ever been to upper seletar reservoir? The one near ngee soon camp?

I suddenly remember seeing HUGE terrapins there about 3 years ago. It was near a jetty, on the far left side of the "park" area. There were a few people feeding them bread. I can't give the exact size because I was looking at them from the jetty but I estimate their heads were 10-12cm long and 5-6cm wide.

Now the maximum size for a red ear(the kind you find in shops) is 28cm. Proportionately the ones I saw must have been at least... 65-100cm. From what I know there isn't anything that big except north american snapping turtles(hard to believe they got all the way here...) I'll try to take a picture if I go there(NS... NS... sigh...) For now I thought I'd just share the info with y'all and maybe have one of the boards pros tell me what they are...

It's probably the malayan giant turtle budak mentioned... Especially considering snappers are bottom dwelling ambush predators(right?). I'll probably be going down tomorrow(sunday 170405) to try and get a pic. Anyone up for trying to outwait turtles? Call me 98627310 That's right... not only am I in NS but I'm also recently single and bored!

Ah well, as you can see I didn't manage to get anything. Strange though the reservoir was completely devoid of terrapins... All I could see were snakeheads and some weird goby

Oh but they were... They usually bask at the far end of the "park" near the Ngee Soon Camp training grounds. But that was way back, they're probably all gone now.
