    Hello fellow diy'er !

I have come across a video on youtube detailing how to diy a canister filter using a 5 gallon bucket . Problem is I could not locate a place to purchase a black 5 gallon bucket . Most local online has them in white , nearly translucent , which lets in light , which I do not need to . Does anyone know of a place like a hardware store where I could go to which sell brand new black 5 gallon bucket ? Appreciate it very much if you could help !

How about Toyogo? They seem to have everything. I'm planning to use Toyogo for my roll-under-fish-rack live food culture bins.

Not going for Toyogo for now . I am looking for the bucket to compare it to the Eheim 2260 .

Perhaps you could either paint it black, or cover the whole bucket with a black plastic bag?
It may help to also contact the video creator to trace the source of the black bucket.

Yes , I will have to cover the bucket with something in black if I could not find a black bucket . This is the video I saw on youtube .

Thanks Limsteel but those would not fit in my cabinet . There is the medium sized one but not sure whether it is tight fitting enough to prevent water from seeping out from the lid , I do have the large blue one for salt water mixing but I doubt about it not being leak proof on the lid .

The Uniseal needs to be ordered online though .

These drums are great for constructing a vertical sump, using a pair of these drums. One of the drums will be empty to act as an overflow trap in the event of pump failure whereupon water will be trapped in it. It is important to keep this second drum empty at all times, otherwise the overflowing water will flood the floor.
