    Hey guys, I have a empty 20gallon tall, and I want to rear some fishes/fish. I want the tank to be as colorful as possible. I am thinking of just putting one goldfish in? What do you guys think? Any other opinions would be great! Thanks!

    Goldfish are not suitable to be put in tall tanks, as they are best put in shallow and wide tanks. Sometimes they will experience swim bladder problems which makes it very difficult for them to swim deeper down the tank.

    Platys are suitable for a tall tank and they are colourful too, red being the best for the festive season and beyond.

    Thank you for the reply tetrakid! Platiea are the same as mollys I presume? And what about angelfish? Only 2 angelfish or what other tankmates?

    @Bracehero

    Mollys look like Platys, but they are more roundish and somewhat fatter. If you like colourful fish, platys are best, as angelfish are dull. (I got rid of my angelfish because they have eating problems).

    But there's a wide range of fish for you to choose. I like Platys for their colour intensity, especially Red Wagtails.

    Cardinal tetras would make an excellent choice as well for schooling fish

    Neon/Cardinal tetra will definitely make the tank look colorful

    If it's tall enough you can try having different groups like surface, mid and bottom dwelling species.
