    Hi there, anybody can help identify the white stuff on the substrate. I was wondering if they are white hair algae or red cherry shrimp molt. Hope that anyone can kindly advise. Thanks.

    One rcs dead after yesterday 20% water change. pH checked at 6.6.

    Do keep an eye on the rest of the livestock and the water parameters, like you mentioned your tank is only a week old... still in the midst of cycling and water conditions still not stable yet.

    Yes, that could be the reason. Thanks for the advice. So far, the rest seem ok. I am trying to get hikari shrimp cruisine which probably contains calcium and iodine to help them molt better but couldn't find a lfs that has it. Maybe I will consider buying assaaqua food for shrimp.
