Hi, they are just planaria which are considered non parasitic worms. Usually solved with when there are fishes in the tank that feed on them.

Should go away with regular water changes and gravel cleaning. I read that they multiply faster due to over feeding and leftover food.

ermm.. I think u should do something quick if u have shrimp lets or fry in the tank. I heard and read that they attack and kill small fry.

especially so if ur tank is shrimp only, with no fishes to eat. try to cut down on feeding? and there are many commercial traps out in the market to trap these pest. there are chemicals too but do make sure they are shrimp safe before adding =)

    act fast!

Imagine one slipping into a cut you unknowingly have on one of your digits during water change.

    Re: ID and kill these

I have to correct myself! These are a type of planaria that seem to be more aggressive and predatory, comparing to the brown planaria / flatworm. The brown ones are less harmless but equally repulsive in my opinion, especially in a shrimp tank when there no fishes to feed on them. If you still have this problem, should look for a product called "No Planaria" that has reviews to be safe for shrimps. Traps can reduce their numbers but won't rid the tank 100% of it. Should read up about their ability to regenerate, interesting.
