I'm thinking of building a wood stand for my aquariums as current iron stands don't fit my specs

but i quite clueless about wood and the types and dimensions of wood available locally

    1) what types of wood is recommended for longevity and is economical? i prefer a light colored wood, is pine a good idea?

    2) what are the common thickness and dimensions of the wood planks available?

    3) roughly how much would it cost in raw materials? i'm building a 3'x1.5'x3' stand, with a middle tier for 2 1.5' tanks

    4) any website to recommend for me to learn about the types of wood for building a aquarium stand?

    5) any recommended website for calculating if my stand design is "solid"? so far i've found http://www.woodbin.com/calcs/sagulator/

    6) also for the middle tier, do i have to consider structure integrity if my 2 1.5ft tanks are differently sized (width 20+ cm)
, since the stand would be build to support a 3'x1.5'x1.5' tank above? i'm thinking of supporting the 1.5' tanks with 3' long planks and maybe 2 extra legs in the middle to the floor
main structure would be similar to below

3x1.5x1.5 ft tank is heavy, for safety purpose I would suggest to get professional carpenter to do it. Especially if you have no carpentry experience.

There are 3 piece of lumber on each leg , it is quite strong for a 3ft tank .
