Hi everyone! Just finished my DIY PVC Overflow made according to The King of DIY's instructional video. However when I primed the Overflow, by putting eater down the high tube and then reading the water, the Overflow did not work at all and only the water I liked in actually came spillimg out.... So I was wondering if there was anything wrong with my set up pictured below:
    (Front view)
    (Back View)

As you can see the Overflow looms exactly like the one done in King of DIY'S video (https://youtu.be/UZytENJZtJw) however his works and mine doesnt. Could it be due to the T connector being too high on my setup? My T connector is pretty large and I didn't make the extra effort to place it a little lower as I followed the tutorial step by step.
Any DIY gurus advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Glowlighttetra

From his video and the overflow you made... it looks like you are missing the weir part. He mention it in the 2 min mark. Probably that why water didnot overflow into the pipe.

i think: his design is a "w" shape and the water in-flow is much higher than the out-let, using height different pressure to push the water out. your out-let is almost same level. also like the pump , you need to prime it to clear air pocket in the tube

Thanks everyone for their responses. It works just needs some vigorous sucking on the high end of the tube. Yeah I know mine isn't exactly as what Joey did but you know it still works...
I have a wier as well but I didn't include it in the post.
Will try adding the aqualifter modification if my siphons breaks due to bubbles forming on the tube. Will see how it goes.

Thanks everyone for their constructive feedback.

Bad news!!! It works but the flow rate is excruciatingly slow... Like it is basically trickling out. Will try to lower the T bend and hope that it actually is able to manage the flow.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread. The Overflow works great now! I lowered the T bend so that the output is only 1cm above the input and this little beasts runs like a dream! Will upload some more pictures to explain the concept behind the Overflow system as it is quite confusing to grasp.

King of DIY has a video that explains it. Just share that.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Update this thread with your new and improved set picture so that others can benefit from it .

For all those who have helped me along this journey, a special thank you.
I've posted the follow up thread for the overflow system that works. Please take a look.

    Cheers!
