Hello! I've recently set up a old 2ft tank with old stuff that I have lying around.
Not sure if what this would be classified under but here goes.

Its filter-less but I have a 200l/h pump behind some coarse sponge, its been going for 2 months now, with little to no water change.

So this thread would be like a little journal for this tank.
    Hope yall would enjoy.

Any ideas to improve would be greatly appreciated!

Wow, very nicely done. Maybe you can describe the layout of the setup, solely driftwood with plants tied?
Do you have pictures of the setting up phase?
I would definitely recommend having a filter, a large HOB filter would make a good and nice waterfall. You can place it in one corner and use plants to hide it to give it a very naturalistic effect.

Thank you for the comment ! . Unfortunately I did not take photos while setting up as it was suppose to be a spare tank in my room.

I hope from this top view you can see how I use airline pipings to distribute water from the small pump to the emersed area. Most of the plants are just "wedged" on to the crevices of the different drift woods.
All of the plants are fairly hardy, anubias, java ferns, cypto wendii brown (i think). There a small amazon sword plant and a whitish bucephalandra (could it be the pink martini?).

If anyone can identify the plant in the picture, it would be amazing. The one with the purplish leaves. Got this from C328 , it was along the corridor emersed in the styrofoam box.

Very early in the setup, I had a hof installed, but the waterfall just made too much noise even when I used the java fern as a "cushion". So that's out. I may get a canister in the future. Currently the betta and guppies seems happy enough !

    about 15 days later.
Crypts are growing well. Mysterious plant on the left seems to be bushier. New leaves are seen on the various anubias.

Also replaced the cling wrap with a piece of glass.

Been having this itchy feeling to flood the tank. What do you guys think ?

Hey there! Yeap fighting the urge

I have a glass cover that covers 90% of the top, less the pump wire. Coupled with singapore's humidity at 80-90% most of the time, I've never misted the tank.

    Thank you Flchamp89.

Moved a piece of driftwood to the right of the tank and added subwassertang to it. Everything seems to be growing slowly so that is good. Added a filter. Pretty happy with the progress. I am slowly opening up the cover, hoping the anubias doesnt dry up.
