Hi guys. Have anyone ever heard of this tank light? Is it any good for planted tanks? Kinda got my attention coz it's super cheap. But i am afraid that I might get what i paid for. Want to know more before setting my eyes on a Beamswork or any DIY lighting. Thanks!

Oh I forgot to put the link. My bad! Hehehe! It doesn't say what brand it is but it says model number is "zjl-60A". And here is the link: http://www.11street.my/productdetail...t-smd-32595191

Seems like a generic CH brand and it looks the same as the more expensive ones like the Beamswork LEDs.

Are you keeping plant or fish only tank? 11W for 50 CM length, probably can only grow moss.

30cm tank? but the light on the link is 50cm . To know the exact light needed, you need PAR meter which is quite expensive (overkill). I'm happen to have tank about the same size before, and I use 20W led flood light. It grow quite well.

But doesn't floodlights create too much heat? Do you have a photo that I can copy? Hahaha!

Will 2 of these be enough or too much?

    Re: Aquarium light

    overkill for 30cm tank.

now a day there is lots of different flood light model, no need to be so ugly

This is currently what I'm using, look more presentable

    30 inches not 30 cm.

That looks good but I don't think it's available thru lazada or lelong. Hihihi!

    Re: Aquarium light

sorry, my mistake, 30" is 2.5ft, 2 x 30W would be good. Your initial link 11W definitely wont grow anything

Not sure if you ever buy from China before. I bought from this guy:

Is this what they call 'taobao' or something? If yes, then no. I haven't bought anything that way yet. I checked on the link and thinking if the price will be more than 30 SGD each, would rather get those built ones.

You can try to buy through agent like ezbuy. The one shadow shared is using CREE LED, so more expensive. There are other China brand if you don't mind.

KNO3 is an explosives precursor, you need licensing from Singapore Police Force - Arms and Explosives division.
Where to get, I don't know, U don't even have the license

You can replace with Ca(NO3)2, you can get it from hydroponic shop
